Reception Decor
Globe String LightsWe'll be hanging globe string lights from the ceiling in the reception room for a bit of ambiance. We plan to order the bulbs and wires separately in bulk from this site, and assemble them ourselves. Our tables are rectangular, not round like in the picture.
| Lace-wrapped Votive CandlesI knew I wanted lace-wrapped votives on the reception tables when I saw this post. Our venue does not allow open flames, so I purchased LED tea lights from Target.com (They were on sale for 65% off!). I bought the votive holders and lace on Ebay.

Table NumbersTo display the table numbers, I purchased Tolsby double-sided frames from Ikea (for .99 cents per frame), shown in the picture below. On one side, we'll display our engagement pictures. On the back side, we'll display the dinner menu. I'll tie ribbons on the bases as well.
Wish JarInstead of a traditional guest book, we will have a wish jar. Guests can write their wishes or advice for us on a piece of cardstock, and then drop it into the jar.

LinensThe table cloths will be white. The napkins will be deep purple. To add some more color to the dinner tables, I will be making table runners. I ordered 30 yards of this fabric from fabric.com (on sale for $5.98 per yard, with free shipping and a 15% off coupon code!)
Ribbon BoardI have a lot of ribbon leftover from our cardbox, so I decided to make a ribbon board to display the escort cards at the reception.

Centerpieces
For the past few months, I've been collecting half-gallon and quart size aqua blue Ball jars & milk glass vases and goblets to use for our centerpieces. The jars and vases will be in groups of 3 or 4 on each table to create an eclectic look. The flowers will be white, shades of purple, and a touch of green. Some favorites are lilacs, garden roses, hydrangea, dendrobium orchids, bells of Ireland, ranunculus, sweet pea, and tulips.
